The Kurunegala Rural Bank Branch is the main and primary rural bank branch of the Kurunegala Rural Services Cooperative Society. This branch is located in the center of Kurunegala town and provides permanent employment to around ten individuals. Since its establishment, due to the dedication and commitment of the staff, this bank has achieved significant progress in the banking sector. As a result, the Kurunegala Rural Bank Branch has earned a respected position within the banking industry.

At present, deposits amounting to Rs. 476 million belonging to over 27,000 depositors are being safeguarded by the bank. Out of these deposits, approximately Rs. 39 million has been invested in loan facilities and micro-credit loans.

By the end of the year 2026, it is expected to achieve deposits of Rs. 519 million, loans amounting to Rs. 259 million, and micro / advance loans amounting to Rs. 155 million. Furthermore, it is planned to reduce the non-performing loan ratio to 5% by the end of 2026.

Located approximately 13 kilometers from Kurunegala town, this Rural Bank Branch has been established in a permanent building belonging to the society. At present, deposits amounting to over Rs. 200 million belonging to more than 9,000 depositors are being safeguarded, and out of these deposits approximately Rs. 97 million has been invested in loan facilities and micro / advance loans. While competing with other financial institutions located in the town, the bank continues to make a significant contribution to the banking sector.

By the end of the year 2026, it is expected to achieve deposits of Rs. 234 million, loans amounting to Rs. 117 million, and micro / advance loans amounting to Rs. 24 million.

This branch is located in a densely populated area of the Teldeniya Divisional Secretariat Division. It provides approximately six permanent employment opportunities and makes a significant contribution to the banking sector.

The community in this area is economically strong, and the residents of this region have developed a habit of saving. This rural bank branch has been constructed on land fully owned by the society. At present, deposits amounting to over Rs. 400 million belonging to more than 11,000 depositors are being safeguarded, and this branch holds the second highest deposit position within the Kurunegala society. The primary objective of this branch, which maintains loans and micro / advance loans at a minimum level, is the promotion of savings. The economic strength of the residents engaged in livelihoods such as coconut, rubber, and paddy cultivation is a key contributing factor to this situation.

Located approximately 6 kilometers from Kurunegala town along the main road leading towards Ratnapura town, this branch has been established adjacent to the main highway. It was commenced as the 4th Rural Bank Branch of our society. At present, this branch serves a depositor base of over 7,500 individuals.

Under concessional interest rates, housing loans, agricultural loans, self-employment loans, and other loan facilities are provided to customers. In addition, micro / advance loans are granted to meet urgent financial requirements.

By the end of the year 2026, it is expected to achieve deposits of Rs. 136 million, loans amounting to Rs. 68 million, and micro / advance loans amounting to Rs. 41 million.

This branch is located close to Ratnapura town, facing the Karapincha main junction. This branch is located in a densely populated area approximately 2 kilometers from the Mervisia main junction. It is situated in a location surrounded by schools, temples, and various commercial establishments. The branch currently safeguards deposits amounting to Rs. 120 million belonging to over 5,700 depositors and operates with comparatively higher interest rates.

At present, loan facilities and micro / advance loans amounting to approximately Rs. 95 million have been provided. The branch has been modernized as a fully equipped branch with complete facilities on land owned by the society.

This branch is located in a densely populated area approximately 5 kilometers from Kurunegala town, where schools, temples, shops, and government service institutions are situated. This branch, which was established in 2006, was relocated to a newly constructed building on land owned by the society in the year 2019 with the objective of providing a more efficient service to customers.

At present, this bank branch serves over 3,000 depositors and has invested approximately Rs. 62 million in loan facilities and micro / advance loans.

By the end of the year 2026, it is expected to achieve deposits of Rs. 85 million, loans amounting to Rs. 42 million, and micro / advance loans amounting to Rs. 25 million.

This branch was established in 2015 at the Pathgama junction. In 2023, it was relocated to a larger and more spacious building equipped with modern facilities. With the convenience of both staff and customers in mind, the branch has been fully modernized and provides efficient banking services.

At present, the branch serves over 1,300 depositors and safeguards deposits amounting to approximately Rs. 42 million. Loan facilities and micro / advance loans have been provided in the amount of Rs. 42 million.
